It’s not easy keeping our spirits up in the situation we are currently in. But let’s be positive… We now have the possibility of doing everything we’ve always wanted to at home but have never been able to due to a lack of time! In these times when our home becomes our whole world, it is essential to feel comfortable. It is for this reason that we have decided to present you with 5 decorating and storage ideas that you can fulfill during confinement.
1- Sort your clothes to prepare for the change of season
It is very common not to even realise the amount of clothing that we have stored and that we no longer use. Often, we then make the change to our spring closet without putting aside all of those clothes that are no longer useful to us. Take all your winter clothes and sort out what you no longer use before putting them aside so you can store the rest. If you haven’t worn it this year, chances are you won’t be wearing it next year either! Anything you don’t use can be donated to another family member or association at the end of confinement. Once you’ve chosen the clothes you want to keep for next winter, take out your spring clothes from last year and do the same. There are definitely things that you are sure you are not wearing that could be very useful to other people!
2- Change your closet for spring
The famous closet change from season to season is a task that has to be done no matter what and that takes time, especially if you have children and you have to make theirs too! Now that we have the time, let’s take the closet change with philosophy. Once we have chosen all the winter clothes we want to keep and those we want to give and similarly with the spring clothes, it is time to put away the thickest clothes until the cold returns. Vacuum storage bags and boxes can be very useful for storing all your winter clothes without taking up too much space in your wardrobes and bedrooms. Now that we are spending a lot more time at home, we need to save as much space as possible in order to live more comfortably!
3- Create your ideal workspace
Let’s be honest… who ever had the thought: “I wish I could work from home” when the alarm clock rang? If you are currently working from home, you surely have already realised that working from home is not as easy or as cool as it seems, especially if you have children playing around you while you work! But you can always take something positive away from any situation: we can now design our own workspace with the decoration, photos and images we want. You don’t need to ask the boss’s permission for anything you may want to put in your new office, so take advantage!
4- Build the interior garden that you have always wanted
Those who live in the city know the importance of putting plants and flowers on their floors or furniture in order to have a little nature at home. If we still can’t enjoy spring outside, do it inside your home! Having plants at home can give life to your interior and can also be decorative at the same time. One trick to make your plants even more beautiful is to put them in colourful baskets that will bring even more light and colour to your interior.
5- Who says you can’t have a dressing room like the stars?
Okay, our apartments and homes are not the same size as Hollywood stars or professional football players. But that’s not an excuse for not having a dressing room! If you are a fashion addict and your dream has always been to have your own space for all your clothes and shoes, you can improvise a corner of your bedroom with storage and dressing accessories such as clothes racks, hangers, covers, etc.
